Life began. With a small cry on his behalf, but nothing more. Growing up wasn't something that would be written in a child's book. The earliest memory he retained was a question asked. A simple question that brought up so much from the past that it made him think years later that it was the first mistake.

-He is not coming, isn't he? a little boy asked, squeezing his mother's hand. But she just squeezed back and took him inside the house without uttering even a single word.

That was the starting point. Eventually he came back. The man now remembers, so long ago, when his mother promised him that the monsters aren't real...he never told her, but when he really came back, he was the monster.

Years passed, and life went on. He kept introducing himself to his mother everyday. She kept forgetting everyday who he was. He grew up and became an EMT doctor. He was told that he was going to save lives. After fifty minutes of CPR on his mother, he knew that was a lie. But he went on. Moved on.

First he thought he found the love of his life. She didn't.Strangers. Friends. Best friends. Lovers. Strangers. It was a lot, but it wasn't just enough apparently. Again, he moved on. But not before walking again into that store that he visited just the day before. He looked at the cashier and asked her: " What's your return policy on rings?"

Years passed again. And he finally did get her. That's when the second lie came. They told him that they can either save the life of his wife, or his son. Now he remembers...they have lied. All that remained it's an ultrasound of a person that he will never meet, watch grow up, became his legacy. And as he looks at it, outside the darkness sets upon the world. It's time to leave his wife. Otherwise the gates at the graveyard will close. After all she told him to wait for her forever and it seems that she's keeping him true to his word.

He remembers as he walks out the graveyard the first lie he ever told. He told her she was going to be okay, as he gave her the news that nine months of excitement came to an end. She never cried. Not even at the end. She was a successful musician, applauded all over the world. But when the heart monitor chimed it's final tune...there was no goddamn applause at the end. Just silence. And the burden. The smallest coffins are the heaviest after all. Both of them gone.

He remembers again. The time spent with her. " My mom taught me how to shave", he told her one afternoon. He even took her to see the grave. Now, the three of them are waiting for him there. His mother, his wife and his son.

Years passed once more. And now he is old. He visits his family daily. But only by looking at old photos. He can barely move now. All alone in an empty house marked by death. But he smiles. He kept going. Every single day. But today's the day. He puts on his best suit. His polished shoes. He slowly walks out of the house. He doesn't bother to lock it anymore. On the way to the graveyard, just as he passes the gates he meets with an old priest. The priest stops him. "Sir,i have seen you here for the past forty years. You really must be faithful and i think you will deserve God's forgiveness when you will finally meet him!"

The man looks at the priest and as he lights a cigarette he smiles cocky.

-If God's real...he will have to beg my forgiveness when i get there.

He walks away to the graves and as he arrives at them, the man takes something out of his pocket. He looks at it and draws the last few smokes from the cigarette. Then he starts talking to the ghosts from his life.

-Hey Mom, my loved one, my son...see what i've got here? Yeah, i know that you wouldn't agree with this, but damn it, it's time for me. And i've got a single bullet in this gun. A lifetime supply, eh? he laughs.

-I'm coming home.

In the next morning, headlines all over the world are saying the same story. The story of the doctor who saved more lives than any other medical doctor in history. And now, he was found dead, inside a graveyard with a bullet hole in his head. Apparently he committed suicide. Every newspaper, internet site, news channel celebrate his professional accomplishments. He treated more patients than could be counted and he never, but never lost anyone. Not even a single person died. Heh...this was just the third lie they told him. He truly didn't lose just anyone. He lost everything.
